Shani & Michael rent the Barefoot Garden Café for a dinner party that night, basically to introduce Michael to Shani’s extended family. Food is all traditional Sri Lankan (curries, hoppers, and desserts like curd & treacle). Most of the curries are super-spicy, but I love them. Michael wants us to try the local liquor arrack. It can be drunk straight, but we have it with Coke (sort of like rum & coke).
