Rick throws two major parties each year: one in the summer for his birthday and one in the fall before the holiday social whirl kicks into high gear. Generic cocktail parties are boring, so he gives these gatherings themes. Last night was the fall party, and its theme was Miami Vices. Dress code was South Beach chic (though most added in a healthy dose of 80s trash). The lethal caiprinihas got the best of me.
