A hat spectacle

Friday we did callbacks for casting all day long. Once that ended we went to our first biergarten. It’s located on the site of a former hospital, so the bar is called Ambulanz. One of the production company assistants suggested we have dinner at Piaristenkeller, a restaurant that’s in the cellar of an old monastery. It would probably be very cozy in winter. There are multi-course set menus with quite hearty fare. I ordered a venison-based menu that included pheasant soup and deer steaks as an entrée. But ultimately the place is pretty touristy/kitschy: during dinner a man plays songs like “My Way” on a zither, and the staff hands out enormous hats when you tour the wine vault.
